El Fuerte and hike

Usually we start the day at 9:00 when we pick you up from your hotel and go to the archaeological museum where we buy our entrance-ticket (not included in the price due to the fact that there are different prices for different nationalities and/or students.) and watch a short video about El Fuerte and Samaipata.  After that we will give you a short tour in the museum to explain a few things that are of interest.

Then we go to the real thing.  Just when we cross the "Rio El Fuerte" we leave the car and continue on foot.  We'll pass "the guardian", a 5 meter high face in the rock, and 20 minutes later we enter the archaeological site itself.

During the walk around the old town and the carved rock, we tell the history and legends of the Inca and how they stumbled upon this sacred place.  We explain about their culture and their (sometimes strange) habits.

After that we walk into the hills surrounding this beautiful spot to have a good distant look and a interesting hike trough the mountains.  There are several options for our lunch-stop with either a view or a river.  We will end up following the river to the place were we parked the car.

You need to bring water ( 1 ltr.) and food, sunscreen, insect-repellent and good walking shoes.  A hat is also nice to have.

Included: Transport, bilingual guide.

Excluded: Entrance fee (foreigners: 50b, Bolivians: 25b, Student: 5b), food, drinks
