Imagine you could stand on top of the "Codo de los Andes" (Elbow of the Andes) and see all these great rugged mountains around you.  Well, now you can!

We have found a mountain that looks impossible to climb... and we climbed it. Straight to the top.  The route to the top is actually surprisingly easy. Anyone can do it. But you should definitively not be afraid of heights.  The trail is narrow and the ground is far below you, but whenever it gets dangerous we use a rope, so not much can go wrong.

On the way to the top we pass many viewpoints and every single one is better then the last one. When you finally stand on the top you have a 360˚ view and on a clear day you can see 50 Km far. The entire "Codo de los Andes" stretches out in front of your feet in all directions.

With luck we see some condors circling around while we have lunch on a slightly lower mountain top.  On the way down we pass through a small patch of sub-tropical forest with Bibosi, Ferns and Orchids.  We end with a cold drink in a local tavern before we return to Samaipata

Many recognizable sights, and this is only the first viewpoint

The occasional condor checks us out
