The Condor is the worlds largest bird with a wingspan of more then 3 meters.  Luckily it is not a predator but a vulture.   Come with us to visit this mythical creature in its own habitat and observe it from a distance of only a few meters while it sores through the skies at eye-level.

The day starts early in the morning with a two hour drive towards a canyon area south of Samaipata.  Next is a 3 ½ hour walk over the rims of the mountains with staggering views and endless drops.  Finally we come to a canyon where these giants of the sky have build their nests.  Under the right weather conditions, sunny skies, we will see several condors practicing aerobatics right in front of us while others are bathing and drinking some 20 meters below us in a small pool stuck against the sheer cliffs.

After an hour or two the time has come to leave this magical place and on the way back we will look over our shoulders more then once.  Having a three meter condor pass over your head so close you can literally hear the wind in its wings is a memory you will never forget.

Count the condors

Luckilly they are not predetors
